Harrodsburg is one of the unique communities in the United States that experiences four distinct seasons of weather. Summers are very comfortable with the warmest temperature during July. Falls in Central Ky are beautiful with trees turning and temperatures cooling off. Winters in KY can be cold with variable amounts of snowfall. Spring is very exciting with plants and flowers blooming and the earth waking from the winter slumber. We experience summer weather during June-August, Fall is Sept.-November, Winter is December-February and Spring is March-May. Pretty much an even distribution of seasons.
The Kentucky River, the Salt River and The Dix River are all excellent places to enjoy nature, boating and fishing. Herrington Lake is the Dix River with Dix Dam-a boating mecca for many.
Herrington Lake is in the Burgin area and home to marinas and great recreational opportunities.
The Mercer County area is home to some of the most beautiful land in Central Kentucky: rolling hills, lush green land and accessible waterways. There are plenty of trails by the Kentucky River via Shaker Village for both hikers and horsemen.
